It is with some disappointment that I hear that the proposed return trip to Gibraltar by SCLI Veterans has been cancelled due to not enough members being able to attend.
A great pity but the many reasons are understandable and I wish to thank Keith Scudamore and Col Ray Hall for all the effort that they both put into getting this trip organised. I doubt if we will get another chance.
To all my pals that I have not heard from for a while I say "Hope you are all OK"

Again sad news,of another SCLI soldier.I knew Johnny Alcock,to be a quiet but confident man, loved the outdoors.
His great hobbies were rock climbing and pot holeing.I recall his enthusiasm when a small team went off to Morrocco to explore and climb in and around the Atlas Mountains. When SCLI was stationed in Gibraltar. All the time I knew him no task was to big or to small, and John took everything in his stride. R.I.P. John. Bobby Bogan.

So sorry to learn of the passing of John Acock. I served with John in Gibraltar on
the MT and Aden,I also went potholing with him in Gib.
He was a fine mild mannered person that never got stressed or excited about anything.
A true gentleman.

Rest in Peace John
Thanks for the memories
Pete

I have just returned home after a wonderful weekend at The Light Infantry Annual Reunion in Shropshire. The whole event was superb, especially the Regimental Dinner on Saturday evening. Sorry to report that only six former DCLI Members were able to go on parade and March Past. I was Honoured to be the DCLI Detachment Commander. To all those who could not attend I say you missed a marvellous weekend.
Terry

Again what a fantastic reunion of so many former Light Infantry (County Regiments),it was wonderful to see members from 1st.2nd,3rd,LI and Durham,Somersets,Cornwalls,Shropshires,Ox and Bucks,Yorkshires, coming together, for the reunion,in Taunton.
My night was rounded off when I had a chat to 2/LT.Johnny Briggs,2nd.DLI.day's,1955 we served together, and Maj.Gen.Barry Lane from my 1SCLI Gibraltar day's.
I hope next year Lawrie Hodges, and Debbie Young can ask or invite some of our new "Regiment The Rifles" to the reunion.
We truely are "A Band of Brothers". Many thanks Lawrie,Debbie, and all who work so hard to make it all happen.

God bless and take care everyone,
Bobby Bogan,
The Cornish Geordie!.
