Thanks for the access to your website very interesting. My daughter is conducting some research into her family and in your lead article with photos including one with 'Al Crenol' in, looks like Cpls mess in civvies. Could someone clearly identify this chap, he might be a distant relative.

We are saddened to hear that Bert Statton has passed away and our condolences go out to his family and friends.
We first met Bert in Gibraltar and after leaving the Army was pleased when we met up again at the SCLI Reunions and was able to chat about old times.
Bert will be sadly missed by all, he was a great person.

The Freedom of Truro Parade for The Rifles went off well this afternoon, The new Regiment are upholding our fine traditions. This was followed by Sounding Retreat.
Not a lot of spectators there but that was their loss, met many former members of the DCLI & SCLI, have encouraged them to join the OCA Branches.

I can only repeat al that has been mentioned above, It was another wonderful chapter in our Regimental Life, Well done to all who made the effort.
I was extremely pleased to meet Roger Taplin and Roger Chillcott again , both Riflemen with me in C Coy DCLI in 1961. None of us has changed much????

Take care, PS< do not forget the Freedom Parade in Truro on 31st May.

I would very much like to thank everyone, especially Lawrie,Keith and Debbie, for making my first reunion such a memorable occasion. It was great meeting 'the lads' again after 40yrs or so, I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and I would advise any of you out there just 'thinking about it',to get yourselves down to the next one in 2010, I promise you, you won't regret it.
Best Wishes to All
Ray

Hello Everyone,
Lawrie,Debbie,Lt/Col.Motum,and all those involved with organising the "2009 Taunton Reunion" this obviously includes the staff of the Reform Club.
A fantastic night with so many different Regimental ties being sported!"Truly we are a Band Of Brothers".
It was wonderful to see "The Rifles" being represented by Nelson Basset's son,Col/Sgt.Basset,I hope more of these young soldiers can make it next year. They are our future.
I'm looking forward to Wells in September.

God bless you all,
Take care,
Bobby.
