The Royal Jersey Light Infantry became the 11th Battalion of The Hampshire Regiment in 1940. The badge was in brass and included three leopards on the central shield facing the viewer's left. A King's Crown version also existed with leopards facing the viewer's right as did its Queen Victoria Crown predecessor. Presumably this was a belated remembrance of heraldic precepts. The Channel Islands units were not revived in 1947.
