RGLI Helmet Plate

Helmet Plate c1902

Royal Guernsey Light Infantry wore the simple stringed bugle-horn in brass above a scroll 'Royal Guernsey' but on the outbreak of war in 1939 another brass pattern was in use, with the Arms of Guernsey in the centre, bearing the title 'Royal Guernsey Militia' on the circle. The Channel Islands units were not revived in 1947.
